Founded as a Health Vocational School in 1989, Changsha Medical University (CSMU) has a history of over 25 years, which has bestowed the institution with a glorious tradition of producing good doctors for the whole Chinese nation. Through a 25 years development, the university has now become a comprehensive institution with a full spectrum of disciplines, covering such areas as Clinical Medicine (M.B.B.S), Stomatology, Nursing, TCM, Pharmacy, Business and Information Technology.
Changsha Medical University founded by a famous educator Mr. He Binsheng, is located in the historic city of Changsha, capital of Hunan Province.Changsha city is famous for Xiangjiang River, Pro Yuelu Academy and Lei Feng's hometown.CSMU is under the jurisdiction of Hunan Government. It is recognized by W.H.O, IMED, AVICEENA and approved by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
Changsha Medical University has in the past few years been making remarkable advancement towards its goal of developing into an institution on a par with the 1st rate. To achieve such goals university has been making painstaking efforts in globalization, by forming partnerships with universities, by encouraging its students to study abroad and at the same time welcoming students from abroad.

CSMU has two campuses, covering an area of 2100 acres.
Changsha Campus is located in Changsha, capital of Hunan and has an area of over 1260 mu (84 hectares), with general assets of 2.3 billion Yuan (RMB). The floorage covers 565 thousand square meters.
Hengyang campus is located in Hengyang City, in the western suburbs, close to the scenic West Lake Park and Shek Kwu Park. Campus has an area of 200 mu, building area of 30,000 square meters, more than 40 million Yuan worth of teaching facilities.
At present university have more than 20,000 students. Teaching staff consist of more then 1597 persons. University consists of 19 colleges & departments offering undergraduate and vocational programs. Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, life sciences and other experimental buildings are equipped with modern teaching equipment. There are 388 different kinds of Laboratories, 17 foreign language labs, 103 multimedia classrooms, 2442 computer centers.
CSMU has extensive clinical teaching equipment and full sets of basic facilities. It has 19 affiliated general hospitals, 139 internship hospitals, including one Grade III-A and four Grade II-A polyclinics with more then 25000 beds. More than 60 million Yuan (RMB) has been invested in modern teaching facilities, which ensure that all the basic experiments the medical teaching requires can be conducted effectively. Multi-media are available for almost all specialties.
Changsha Medical University has 8 floors library building with total construction area of 34,400 square meters. It has 1,371,300 paper books, 805,000 electronics books and 1740 different kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals In order to provide students with a good learning environment, the library have opened eight large study rooms. A special reading room is well equipped for the international students, so that they can read original English newspapers, books and periodicals. The school possesses a rich reserve of books. It has textbooks and reference materials for medical sciences in English medium. (According to the trends of text books being used in leading Pakistani Medical Colleges). The library provides an excellent study atmosphere for students.
In 2009 Changsha Medical University enrolled first batch of international students for M.B.B.S program from Pakistan and Cameroon. At present university have more then 240 international students from Pakistan, Nepal, Sudan, Cameroon, Somalia and Ghana for M.B.B.S program.

There is separate hostel for boys and girls
Well-appointed hostels with fully furnished Air-conditioned rooms made for international students. Rooms are furnished with beds, TV, study tables, internet access, and air conditioning
The hostels are given good protection by security agencies and police booths in the University
Halal Food is available. Muslim hotels are available in front of CSMU main gate. Students can choose to take their Halal meals at the muslim canteen in CSMU. For international students, breakfast, lunch, supper and all kinds of snacks are available at very reasonable cost.
University has modern educational facilities which include the Computer Center, Audio-visual Educational Information Center, Network Teaching Laboratories, Multi-media Micro-teaching Laboratories, Multi-media Classrooms, Music Hall, Artists Gallery, campus-net, cable TV and broadcasting systems. All highly qualified teachers are teaching M.B.B.S course, so as to make the teaching-learning experience a live procedure. This enhances the content understanding and practical capability of a student. The teachers are committed to transform every student into a competent doctor with individual care.

Air: Changsha Huanghua International Airport is a regional hub for China Southern Airlines, which serves major cities in China, including Hong Kong. Other major airlines also provide daily service between Changsha and other domestic and international destinations.The airport provides direct flights to 45 major cities such as HongKong, Bangkok, Seoul, Pusan, Osaka and etc
